Artist Bio:
Melissa Patronella is a fabric designer by trade but a true explorer of all fiber arts. After being in the textile industry for over a decade, it had become increasingly clear that she not only wanted to work for herself but also wanted to incorporate more sustainable approaches to design.
At the age of 6, her Granny taught her how to sew, crochet, and generally make things by hand. Now, after having 2 kids of her own, she realized the importance of this mindset. She not only wants to set an example for her children but also share these techniques with members of her community through her products and workshops.
With over 14 years of experience in textile design and manufacturing she has developed a wealth of expertise in pattern design. All of which started with diving into her passion for textiles at Savannah College of Art and Design. Since graduation she has worked for some of the United States largest retailers. She has crafted captivating illustrations, which she has transformed into a versatile array of products, including wallpapers, dog bedding, and stylish graphic tees of all kinds.
